Description

The Common Toxicity Criteria (CTC) define adverse events following cancer therapy. It was designed for use in clinical trials of different therapeutic regimens.

Types of musculoskeletal adverse events:

(1) arthritis (pain with inflammation, erythema and/or joint swelling)

(2) muscle weakness (not due to neuropathy)

(3) myositis (inflammation and damage of muscle with elevated CPK)

(4) osteonecrosis (avascular necrosis)

(5) other

NOTES:

(1) Arthralgia (joint pain without signs of inflammation) is graded in the "Pain" category.

(2) Myalgia is graded in the "Pain" category.

Grade 0: normal or no change
