Description

Sweating is one means that the body has of dissipating heat. A person with hypohidrosis or anhidrosis can manifest overheating.


 

Clinical features of hypohidrosis or anhidrosis:

(1) reduced or absent sweating in situations where sweating is normal

(2) heat intolerance

(3) exercise intolerance

(4) intolerance to fevers

(5) fever with overheating in hot weather (due to inability to dissipate heat)

 

To control the body temperature the person may require:

(1) placement in a cool environment

(2) access to water

(3) wet T-shirt or water spray bottle

(4) cooling vest
