Description

A patient infected with Taenia saginata (the beef tapeworm) may present with few clinical findings.


 

Clinical findings may include:

(1) mobile proglottids crawling out of the anus or seen moving on feces

(2) variable abdominal discomfort or hunger pains

(3) variable looseness of stool

(4) variable nausea or anorexia

(5) weight loss

(6) rarely intestinal obstruction or appendicitis
