Description

The distribution of arteriosclerotic plaques at a bifurcation of a coronary artery can be classified by a number of methods. The designation used for the SYNTAX score is modified from the Duke and ICPS classification systems.

• The Medina designation uses (proximal, distal, side branch) with 1 if lesion present and 0 if absent.
