Classification of Meyerhoff and Truelson for Cholesteatoma (Modified Classification of Wullstein)

Description

Meyerhoff and Truelson used a modification of the classification of Wullstein to evaluate patients with cholesteatoma during surgery. This can decide how much surgery is likely to improve a patient's hearing. The authors are from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas, Texas.

(1) status of the stapes footplate

(2) status of the superstructure of the stapes

(3) status of the incus
