Description

Kroemer and Grandjean described different types of fatigue.

Fatigue may be classified temporally as:

(1) acute

(2) chronic

Fatigue may also be classified as:

(1) generalized

(2) limited

Limited forms include:

(1) eye fatigue

(2) muscle fatigue

(3) mental fatigue

(4) nervous/emotional fatigue (from being overstressed)

Other forms:

(1) circadian and sleep-related

(2) excessive or repetitive use

Chronic nervous/emotional fatigue probably equates to "burnout".
