Jones et al described a classification scheme for congenital aplasia or dysplasia of the tibia in association with an intact fibula. The authors are from the Hospital for Sick Children in London.

where:
• Diastasis involves a separation of the two bones, with a defective ankle. While the foot may be normal in structure there is often an equinovarus deformity. The proximal ends may be dislocated as well.
