A patient who has been diagnosed as having eosinophilic pneumonia can then be classified as having acute or chronic disease.
Parameters:
(1) duration of illness before diagnosis
(2) duration of illness after diagnosis
(3) recurrences
(4) asthma

The use of time periods before and after diagnosis can cause problems for classifying results. A simple solution would be to make the total time course for acute as < 2 months and for chronic > 4 months.
There will be people who will have a course from 2 to 4 months. These might be termed subacute. This patient might be allowed to have 1 recurrence.
Purpose: To subclassify a patient diagnosed with eosinophilic pneumonia.
