Description

Speiser et al developed several classification and regression tree (CART) models for acetaminophen-induced acute liver failure. One is based on variables different from those of the King's College Hospital available after the hospital admission. The authors are from the United States Acute Liver Failure Study Group (ALFSG).

Patient selection: acetaminophen-induced acute liver failure

Parameters on admission (designated Day 3 to 7):

(1) coma grade I to IV

(2) serum lactate in mmol/L

(3) modified MELD
