Wong et al developed 3 cardiac risk scores for patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. One of these helped to identify a patient who is at increased risk for morality following the surgery. The authors are from the University of Toronto.
Parameters:
(1) gender
(2) emergency surgery
(3) left ventricular dysfunction
All of these risk factors would be known prior to surgery.

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 12
• The higher the score the greater the risk of mortality.
