Allawadhi et al used the extent of bone marrow involvement seen on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to stage patients with multiple myeloma. MRI is a sensitive and noninvasive method to determine myeloma tumor burden. The authors are from Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.
