Disorders of the biliary tract may be associated with permanent impairment. Criteria for the impairment have been published by the American Medical Association (AMA).
Parameters:
(1) signs and symptoms of biliary disease
(2) biliary tract dysfunction and/or obstruction
Signs and symptoms:
(1) history of previous biliary tract or gallbladder surgery
(2) jaundice
(3) cholecystitis or biliary colic
(4) family history of a bilirubin metabolism disorder or hemolytic anemia
(5) pruritis
(6) bleeding
(7) fistula
