AMA Criteria for Permanent Impairment Associated with a Disorder of the Mammary Glands (Breasts)

 

Breast disorders:

(1) absence in females

(2) galactorrhea, with milk discharge

(3) gynecomastia

 

Basis of impairment:

(1) in females of child-bearing age, the inability to nurse

(2) discharge or pain, that interfere with activities of daily living

(3) embarrassment

 

Range of whole person impairment: from 0 to 5%

 

A breast disorder may coexist with other impairments (endocrine, liver disease, tumor, psychiatric).
